  • Parsley is more than a garnish. Chewing on a bit of parsley will help freshen your breath.
  • A hydrogen peroxide solution diluted to 1.5% with water may help if gargled.
  • Green tea works for some people as long as there’s no added sugar.
  • Drinking a lot of water throughout the day can keep you hydrated and stop bacteria from flourishing.
  • Use a tongue scraper. The majority of most bad breath is bacteria growing on the tongue.
  • A good mouth rinse with chlorhexidine, zinc gluconate or chlorine dioxide can be helpful.
  • Products designed to help with bad breath can work well such as sprays, gums, mints and pills.
  • The more saliva in your mouth the harder it is for bacteria to build up. Try chewing something sugar free.
